Ava Paloma is a SAG-AFTRA actor and producer, known for her extensive experience and dynamic presence in film, television, and theater. Ava's ability to navigate high-pressure situations with poise and foster a collaborative, solution-focused environment has made her a valuable asset on set and behind the scenes.

She gained widespread recognition for her role as Sophia in the Bruce Willis action-thriller Deadlock, a performance praised by Quentin Tarantino as "really f***ing good." Ava appeared in Razor's Edge, starring James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones, playing opposite Paul Ben-Victor as his daughter. She also starred as FBI Agent Angela Scott in the film 72 Hours opposite Sam Trammell. Her television work includes Poker Face, Law & Order: Organized Crime, The Blacklist, and Bull. She can also be seen in multiple national commercial campaigns, including American Express, Boar's Head, and Valley Bank, as well as a long-running regional campaign with Ford. Upcoming projects include Bad Day starring Cameron Diaz, The Spot with Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor, the Civil War thriller Brine, and a holiday feature film starring Maria Menounos.

In her film career, Ava has taken on leading roles in a variety of projects, including Kitt in Scrapper alongside the late Craig "Mums" Grant, and Vikki in the film Jersey Bred, opposite Chris Tardio. As a producer, she founded WV4 Productions, known for its dark comedies such as Verpussi's Heirs and Choked, which premiered at The C:10 Collective Play Festival.

Along the way, Ava worked as an assistant to screenwriter Ed Solomon, famed for his work on Men in Black and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure - an experience that deepened her passion for storytelling and shaped her approach as both an actor and producer. Ava studied at New York University and trained under the late Bill Esper at The William Esper Studio, and is an ensemble member of The Collective NYC, co-founded by Amy Schumer and Kevin Kane.

Originally from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Ava spent much of her career in New York City and now splits her time between Georgia and New York with her husband and son, Bo.

In her downtime, Ava enjoys long walks with her rescue dogs, Ruby and Cha Cha, and spending time at her family's regenerative farm, Wildom, in Deep Creek, Maryland.

STAGE 32 BLOG POST:

THE POWER OF SILENCE

“Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

– Steve Jobs

We all crave feedback. We want it from our partners, parents, co-workers, and teachers. Need I even mention social media. We want our parents to be proud of us, our bosses to appreciate us, and our partners to love us.

Stage32 Blog Post:

LESS WOO AND MORE DO

"It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward."

- Chinese proverb

As actors, we all have huge dreams and aspirations: one day winning an Oscar, being on a Broadway stage, getting into Marvel-ready shape, or getting that top-tier agent. For better or worse, we think big and relentlessly pursue our goals. We sprint towards them, stumble, pick ourselves back up, run again, fall, cry, take a few more steps, sometimes retreat, sometimes pause, jog a little, take a breather, or jump the tracks.

Mentor Nation Podcast

I recently had the opportunity to be interviewed by John Abbas on his podcast “Mentor Nation”.

Abbas: In this episode I interview Ava Paloma. Ava is an actress, writer and producer and she just had a huge breakout year ending 2021 with two feature films that she starred in releasing at almost the same time. The first film is Deadlock starring Ava and Bruce Willis and the 2nd is The Scrapper. In this interview Ava shares her story, why the road to success takes time and patience, and then we talk about her big year including an absolutely crazy story on how she ended up starring in Deadlock. This whole interview is just full of wisdom and it’s so exciting to pull back the curtain on making full feature length films to reveal a sneak peak of that world.
